Important Notice to Our Customers Regarding COVID-19

Here at PERI.A, we are taking important steps to protect the health and safety of both our employees and devoted customers so our customers can resume the in-store shopping experience they have come to love and expect.  Over the past several months, PERI.A. has been actively working to lay the groundwork to safely reopen our doors in anticipation that the restrictions on retail businesses in Los Angeles would soon be eased.  During this time, we have reviewed (and continue to review) available guidance from federal, state, and local public health officials as well as from various experts in the retail industry.  And, while it is impossible for us to offer a guarantee that in-store shopping is completely without risk, PERI.A is implementing a number of important safety measures to protect the health of our customers and employees that, in turn, will significantly reduce the risk of any possible exposure to COVID-19. 

First and foremost, we will limit the number of customers that are allowed into the store at any one time, such that we will never operate at more than 50% of the store’s maximum occupancy.  We also are offering private virtual and in-store appointments that can be scheduled on our Personal Styling page, including before or after store hours.

In addition, we are implementing the following additional measures for both our employees and our customers:

Our Expectations of Our Employees

  • All of our employees will be required to undergo a daily wellness check (consisting of a temperature and symptom check) prior to entering the store each day. Any employee who has a fever and/or any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter or work in the store.

  • All of our employees will wear face coverings which securely cover their nose and mouth at all times while working in the store.

  • All of our employees have been trained to ensure they follow physical distancing guidelines while working in the store.

  • All of our employees have been trained on the need to follow proper cough and sneeze etiquette at all times.

  • All of our employees have been trained on the need for them to wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer immediately upon entering the store at the start of their shift and repeatedly throughout the course of their workday.

  • All of our employees have been trained on the need for them to assist only one customer at a time and to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer after they have finished helping one customer and before beginning to help another customer.

  • All of our employees who choose to wear single use disposable gloves have been trained on the need for them to dispose of such gloves after they have finished helping one customer and before beginning to help another customer.

  • All of our employees have been trained on the need to regularly and thoroughly disinfect all surfaces and objects that have been touched and a deep cleaning of the store will be performed several times a week or more, as needed.

  • All of our employees are presently subject to travel restrictions to/from any countries designated by the CDC or other public health officials as constituting a COVID-19 hotspot.

Our Expectations of Our Customers

  • Prior to entering the store, all of our customers will be required to undergo a wellness check (consisting of a temperature and symptom check).  A temperature check – using a digital, infrared thermometer that will be pointed at (but does not make contact with) one’s forehead – will be performed by a PERI.A employee who will be wearing a face covering and gloves.  Any customer who has a fever or has any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 will be asked to return to the store once they no longer have any COVID-19 related symptoms for a period of at least 7 days.

  • Prior to entering the store, all of our customers also will be required to affirm that they have not recently traveled to a country designated by the CDC or other public health officials as constituting a COVID-19 hotspot or come into close contact with someone who has recently traveled to such a country.  Any customer who has recently traveled to or come into close contact with someone who has traveled to such a country will be asked to return to the store after a period of 14 days, provided they have not tested positive for COVID-19 or have any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19.

  • Prior to entering the store, all customers (including children) will be required to wear a face covering which securely covers their nose and mouth and such face covering must be worn at all times while inside the store.  The only exceptions will be for children who are 2 years of age and under or individuals with chronic respiratory or other medical conditions that make the use of a mask hazardous.  All children who enter the store must be accompanied by an adult and must remain next to their parent/guardian at all times.

  • Prior to entering the store, all customers will be required to apply an ample amount of hand sanitizer (containing at least 60% alcohol) to thoroughly disinfect their hands. PERI.A will have plenty of hand sanitizer available to all customers, both outside and inside the store.

  • Prior to entering the store, all customers will be reminded to follow proper cough and sneeze etiquette at all times by either:  i) coughing or sneezing into a tissue and immediately throwing the tissue into the garbage; or ii) coughing or sneezing into their elbow.  Facial tissues will be available to our customers throughout the store.

  • Upon entry into the store, all customers will be required to maintain a physical distance from other customers and our employees at all times except for very brief interactions (e.g., such as when items are exchanged between our employees/customers or when a purchase is made). To assist with physical distancing among individuals inside the store, PERI.A has reconfigured its store to require that customers follow the directional floor arrows as they navigate their way through the store.

  • All commonly touched surfaces inside our dressing rooms will be disinfected immediately after each customer use, including door handles, hooks, etc.

  • Any apparel, jewelry, or accessories that a customer tries on or otherwise handles while inside the store will undergo a disinfection process using an ultraviolet light sanitizing wand before the items will be returned to the sales floor. This process will be performed off the floor so as not to unnecessarily expose any customers to UV light.

  • A plexiglass protective shield has been installed at the checkout counter to limit the exposure between our customers and employees and payment pads and styluses will be sanitized after each customer use.

  • All purchased items will be wrapped in plastic and placed inside a PERI.A shopping bag with handles.

  • No samples of any kind will be available to customers until further notice. Likewise, we have temporarily discontinued offering water, coffee or mints to our customers.

  • Until further notice and in accordance with mandates by local public health officials, customers will not be able to use the in-store bathroom under any circumstances.

What If I’m Not Ready to Resume In-Store Shopping at This Time?

In the event you are not yet ready to resume in-store shopping, our customers can continue to choose from a wide variety of PERI.A’s specialized and handpicked apparel, jewelry, and accessories by clicking on the “Shop” or “Sale” links on our website. Such items can continue to be shipped directly to your door. Alternatively, you can contact the store to arrange for either home delivery or curbside pickup at the store. For curbside pickups, we will arrange to load any purchased items directly into the trunk or backseat of your vehicle so you don’t even need to get out of your car! Of course, if a customer must exist their vehicle for any reason when doing a curbside pickup, a face covering must be work at all times.
