D'Heygere
Belgian-born founder and creative director Stephanie D’heygere graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2009. In 2011, after assisting at an array of major fashion houses, she joined Maison Martin Margiela where she became head of jewelry until 2015. Stephanie then joined Dior as senior jewelry designer, before going freelance to make statement jewelry and accessories for Paris’ new guard such as Jacquemus and Y/Project, as well as the renowned Parisian label APC both of which she still collaborates with. Simultaneously, she is teaching in the Master of Arts in Fashion and Accessory Design at the Head Geneva University of Art and Design since 2015.
Her eponymous accessories brand D’heygere was launched during Paris Fashion Week in January 2018. It quickly garnered industry acclaim and won the 2018 ANDAM Accessories Prize for its unisex, inventive and thought-provoking pieces created in response to the current of daily life, balancing form and function with a focus on bold minimalism. Exhibiting the wit and avant-garde spirit as her cited influences, artists Marcel Duchamp and Marcel Broodthaers, D’heygere navigates the interplay between opposites – luxury and ordinary, reality and representation – reimagining mundane materials and commonplace objects as innovative, poetic and functional adornments made in Italy in silver 925 and leather.
“Accessories are meant to accessorize your outfit,” said Stephanie to The New York Times in January 2018, “but now with D’heygere, you can actually accessorize your accessories”.
